CALEB QUINLEY PORTFOLIO
Bangkok Blues is a photo essay on two of Bangkok's most respected Jazz bars--Brown Sugar and Saxophone. The photos are shot to illuminate the performances and reflect the individual characters of the two musical genres.
Bangkok Blues
This series looks at the canals that run throughout Bangkok providing a cheap and quick alternative to using the overly cluttered streets of the city. Down these water-ways you'll find life at every corner. Thousands of people live and work beside (and on) the canals adding to sounds of the passing boats.
Faces of Bangkok's Homeless
This series focuses on Bangkoks' homeless population and the daily struggles they endure.
A Glimpse Into the Night of a Bangkok Transgender Sex Worker
Bangkok is a Paradise
For this piece I embedded with a volunteer based emergency-response group named Ruamkatanyu. The organization reacts to various emergency scenarios from car accidents, to fights, to stabbings. After weeks with the group, I witnessed violence and the constant carnage that floods the streets of Bangkok every night.
Riding Along with Bangkok's 'Body Snatchers'
This series explores the working lives of transgender sex workers in Bangkok's 'Nana Plaza' entertainment venue.
This series focuses on the raw, gritty and rustic nature of Bangkok.
It examines both contradiction and paradox, yet reveals an unseen beauty that is rarely acknowledged in the cracks, alleys and caverns of the city.
